INSTITUTIONAL OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES • TALAVERA ACOG is a nonprofit association (ANL) and Non Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1992. • Works for immigrants and promotes local awareness of the issue within the general population. • At first, it was operated only and exclusively through volunteers. • Due to public demand it was necessary to hire staff. However volunteering remains the basic pillar of this institution.

  3. The purposes of the Association are: • Outreach for immigrants and a decent quality of life for every human being in society. • Promoting co-existence with and between them through activities. • Zoom positions, which bring together the host society and the new company installed or received. • Work and promote actions that lead to gender equality.

  4. Regional or national networks EAPN - CLM (European Network for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion in CLM). • Regional federation to which we belong since 2006. • Its objective is the struggle for the eradication of Poverty and Social Exclusion in CLM. • It comprises 38 nonprofit organizations throughout the region and in all areas.

  5. SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE COMPANY WELCOME AND INFORMATION • Efforts to satisfy the basic needs of the immigrant population and accompany the process of social integration (reception and evaluation, social counseling and immigration matters, employment counseling service, wardrobe, ...).

SERVICE ATTENTION NY Mediation "N INTERCULTURAL (SAMI) • Intervention, mediation, accompaniment, advocacy and social actions that are intended to contribute to better communication, relationship and integration between different groups and / or cultures in the city, thereby encouraging the reduction of risk of marginalization and social exclusion.

SUPPORT FOR ACCESS TO HOUSING • Accompaniment and mediation for access to rental housing in the immigrant population in Talavera de la Reina. • Reduce the prejudices of the population to facilitate rental housing. • Provide assurance to the target population for the use and maintenance of rental housing

TEMPORARY HOMES WELCOME IMMIGRANTS IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS OF VULNERABILITY (CATI) • Pursues social and emotional stability through socio-educational intervention for reintegration into the host society or the voluntary return, in your case. • Access to resources:Particular application through the SAMI.Referral by other centers of social services. • 3 months stay extendable. • 11 people in 2 houses (men and women and / or families).

  9. PROGRAM COORDINATION • Transversal program to the rest of which are held in the state. • There are several volunteers working in each of the services or programs that have been previously detailed. • There are also volunteers and fixed point. • In 2010 the organization had 50 volunteers.

  10. CASTILIAN CLASSES AND LITERACY Activities in high demand at the headquarters of the Association, made exclusively by volunteer professionals, are courses aimed at learning Castilian for all who have problems with the language.

  11. WARDROBE SERVICE • Held exclusively by volunteers. • The general population donates clothes for good use, that after selected, are distributed. • Unselected Clothing is donated to another entity called "Humana" for recycling and for further use in the Third World.
