  1. The Surprising Life of Maya Angelouby:Y’leiseSaez

  2. Heart broken child • Maya was born on April 4, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri • She was born as Marguerite Annie Johnson, but soon changed her name to Maya Angelou when she was in her teens • She traveled to about five places to live with her separated family, she went to her grandmother, her father, and then her mother. She must have a broken heart. But she still kept some of her heart for reading and writing.

  3. A Reading child • When Maya was a child she always came to their families shop from school and write, after she did that she would read out loud every single day and people would even complain to her to stop reading. • When she read every day after school it influenced her to read and write even more, she even started to read poems too, she read because she had to read for homework from school!

  4. Three achievements, one person • Maya Angelou achieved three different things the three different things she achieved are poetry, singing and writing • When she was young she always read ,and that influenced her to do more when she got older • Now it influenced her son to write and he achieved it

  5. Influential • I think Maya is influential because she fought for her rights by showing what she can do • I thought that she wasn’t going to actually do it, but she did! • She inspired me to write poetry even though I wanted to write poetry already , she made my spirit grow and I don’t think I’m the only person that she inspired • I think Maya is a wonderful person and she didn’t let what happened to her as a child ruin her life
