  1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? • Within our media product we developed and challenged the typical forms and conventions of Urban Drama to create a teaser trailer which focused on issues and problems caused by modern and contemporary urban life. Steryotypically it shows 'Gangsters' in the inner city looking at drug abuse and selling, knife crime and violence, possibly death, getting on the wrong side of the law and running from it and building and breaking friendships. Most urban drama trailers have typical conventions of establishing shots, music and a lot of action so we conformed with those conventions however we subverted with our characters as they wasn’t stereotypical urban drama characters.

  2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? • The combination of our main product and ancillary texts all link together very well. Our task was to create a magazine front cover, a poster and a teaser trailer. This relates to real main stream productions as they go through the same process as what we have done As its all types of promotion. For my poster I used an image of the two main characters holding each other at gun point. This looks at typical stereotypes of gun crime gang culture and urban life and For my magazine front cover I have focused on an image of our main character.

  3. What have you learned from your audience feedback? • our target audience was from about 15-19 year olds and we handed out a various amount of questionnaires before starting our task so we knew exactly what our audiences wanted and what they expected from the film. From reciving feedback on our trailer people realy liked it and wanted to see more.

  4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? • During the research process we didn’t use media technologies as such as we was mainly planning and it was a lot of research and paper work however when researching and planning we used websites such as youtube watched various urban drama genre dvds which gave us a real idea of what we have to produce and what is in a urban drama film. During the construction process we used digital cameras to take pictures for our magazine front covers and posters and then hand held camcorders for the filming. When editing we used adobe premier pro which edited our software and gave us our final result. The same process applied to the evaluation process as we filmed our evaluations.
