  1. BOOK BOX Home at Last By Susan Middleton Elya

  2. I am going to show you a picture of five different items. Based on these items, you are going to guess what the story will be about!

  3. The recorder should get a sheet of writing paper. Number the paper 1 to 5. After each item is shown, the group should guess what the story will be about.

  4. The group member who’s job it is to be the Reader will, for this activity, also be the Computer person. They are the only person allowed to touch the computer.

  5. Let’s get started with our first item!

  6. Based on this item from my Book Box, what you think the story will be about? Write down a prediction beside number 1 before going to the next item!

  7. What do you think the story will be about now? Write down your next prediction!

  8. Record another prediction!

  9. Do you think you know the story now? Write a prediction now.

  10. This is the last item from my Book Box! Think about the items you’ve seen. Make one last prediction about the book and have the recorder write it down.

  11. When you have finished with all five predictions, turn your paper in to me. Begin your next activity.
