  2. Today’s topic… • Times of Economic Crisis in Aviation: Can the Airlinecompanies afford environmental related investments? • The short answer from SAS is: Yes. • SAS have set ambitious environmental goals. They are all set to reduce emissions, costs and mitigate future risks.

  3. SAS´environmental goals The environmental goal up to 2015 will lay the basis for ensuring that SAS operations will be sustainable in the long-term. SAS will: • reduce total flight emissions by 20% in 2015 compared with 2005. • reduce total ground-related energy consumption by 15% in 2015 compared with 2010. • reduce ground-vehicle consumption of fossil fuels by 10% at SAS’s major airports in Scandinavia 2015 compared with 2010. • improve one index point annually for the Customer Satisfaction Index question involving being an environmental-aware company (2011: Index 64). • secure a regular, large-scale supply of a commercially available and sustainable jet fuel by 2015. 3

  4. We continuously renew our fleet As of Q4 2012 Scandinavian Airlines plan to operate 79 % current generation short haul aircraft. By Q4 2014 Scandinavian Airlines plan to operate 100% current generation short haul aircraft. And will be among the first airlines to introduce Airbus 320neo in 2016.

SAS orders 30 Airbus A320neo • First delivery from fall 2016 and final delivery during 2019 • An important step in the renewal and harmonization of SAS aircraft fleet • SAS will from 2016 have the markets most efficient and environmental friendly short & medium distance aircrafts • A320neo reduces fuel consumption and Co2 by additional 15% and noise by 50% compared to the A320 model today

  6. We continuously adapt our fleet to meet the demand CO₂ emissions per passenger in kilo and type of B737NG for all flights from OSL to SVG between 01Aug2011 and 31Jul2012.

We continuously modify ouraircraft • We mount winglets when financial and environmental effectsare beneficial. • Approx. 1-5 percent improved fuel efficiency depending on stage length. • We exchange to lighter seats. • Approx. 250 kilo weight reduction compared to samenumber of older seats in an B737-800. • We replace older versions of our B737NG engines (CFM56) with the latest version.

  10. We continuously reduce our emissions So, yes. Even in a challenging market you need to work with environmental investments in order to reduce your costs AND take responsibility and contribute to lower total emissions in the society.
