  1. Smart-QC Demonstration The Smart Choice for Lab Efficiency Management Platform by 2008

  2. Smart-QC The Smart Choice for Lab Efficiency Management Platform The most robust platform for QC Laboratories: Resource Planning and Test Allocation for analysts / instruments across various laboratories. • Robust capacity planning for both analysts and instruments • Test allocation provides a platform to deliver daily test allocation to analysts across various laboratories Managing Your Labs’ Resources and Overall Efficiency by

  3. Smart-QC provides a critical management tool that will be used as a foundation and efficient infrastructure for long-term strategic planning and growth. The objective is to implement a proactive resources planning and scheduling application to effectively manage the dynamic and complex QC environment. Other Smart-QC Key benefits: Identify the required analyst and instruments for each work-center for given forecasted demands Determine cost per product/sample/test Determine value added vs. non-value added Predict expected backlog and react accordingly Optimize the campaign size for major assays Provide meaningful key performance indicators Balance capacity based on given demands to reduce overtime and waste Smart-QC Introduction

  4. Login to Smart-QC Login to Smart-QC via internet/Intranet, by typing user name, password and site id.

  5. Smart-QC Modules Use the Scheduling Module for an efficient and effective scheduling of the complex labs operation balancing the analyst’s work load, samples’ cycle time, and on-time delivery to meet customer service needs Use the Planning Module to identify the required analysts and instruments for each work-center for given forecasted demands, determine value added vs. non-value added, predict expected backlog, optimize the campaign size, provide meaningful KPIs, and balance capacity based on given demands to reduce overtime and waste Easily set parameters and entities to set standards in the admin module to ensure consistent results from staff. High level summary of efficiency and compliance performance built into an executive dashboard. Let’s explore the Planning and Scheduling Modules.

  6. Planning Module Tests, Products, Standards and Resource Availabilities and Activities parameters are defined here so instrument and resource requirements can be calculated using the Samples Forecast input.

  7. Reporting Reporting Tab provides the user with an easy-to-use tool to retrieve resource requirements information (quantity, hours, etc.) meeting a specific set of user defined criteria.

  8. Reporting Glance at data by selecting a single or multiple periods for trends, comparisons, load balancing. Choose report desired and filter for search criteria to review specific data quickly.

  9. Reporting Over 40 reports templates are available in Smart-QC. Required Vs. Available Resources By Period

  10. Reporting Smart-QC offers a variety of line charts, pie charts, stacked bar charts, and text reports. Resource Time Distribution by Workcenter and Resource

  11. Reporting Test Activity Time By Workcenter and Resource

  12. Smart-QC: Scheduling Smart-QC provides a 4 step process which ensures an efficient and effective scheduling of the complex labs operation. It helps balance the analyst’s work load, samples’ cycle time, and on-time delivery to meet customer service needs. Scheduling 4. Test Schedule 3. Batch Assignment 2. Batch Creation 1. Sample List

  13. 1. Sample List • The Sample List allows the user to view all incoming samples and their corresponding due dates and assays. • Also, high priority samples can be flagged from this screen.

  14. 2. Batch Creation • The Batch Creation Step allows the user to both automatically and manually create batches. • Automatically created batches can be manipulated and all created batches can be locked or unlocked for flexibility.

  15. 3. Batch Assignment • Batch Assignment By Sample Step allows the user to order samples • by their priority or their sample IDs and to do the following: • assign batches automatically or manually, • re-assign batches, • withhold or release the remaining time available per analyst.

  16. 4. Test Schedule • In the Test Schedule screen, users will be able to do the following: • view batches assigned to an analyst, • stamp start or finish of a test, • hand over a test to another analyst, • Repeat samples – send back samples that need retesting to the Batch Creation step to be batched with existing or new batches.
