Our History: Heartland Mutual began in June 1883 when Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Society of St. Clair County Illinois resolved to organize in accordance with Illinois law as a county insurance company. The new company became known as Belleville, St. Clair County Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company and would write business only in St. Clair County. The company began with liabilities and assets of $2,661 and a risk in force of $421,392. Today the company has 63 counties in its writing territory, over $1.7 billion risk in force and assets in excess of $6 million.

This discount will diminish by 2% each year until gone. • 55 OR RETIRED DISCOUNT: A 2% Dwelling Discount if you are over the age of 55 or are retired. • GREEN HOME DISCOUNT: A 2% Dwelling Discount if your home is certified “Green” by the Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). • NEW WIRING DISCOUNT: A 1% Dwelling Discount if the entire home has been REWIRED by a licensed electrical contractor and has been inspected by a building code official. Must provide license number along with invoice to qualify. Cannot be combined with the Newly Constructed Home Discount. • WATER DETECTION DISCOUNT: A 1% Dwelling Discount if you have a device installed to detect overflow of water from a source such as a washer, bathtub, shower, sing or around a sump pump. • GENERATIONAL DISCOUNT: A 2% Dwelling Discount on each policy if you have 2 or more generations actively insured with Heartland Mutual. Example: Grandma/Grandpa & Mom/Dad & Son/Daughter

  12. Homeowners: Level 1: HG-3 Preferred 100% Level 2: HG-3 Standard 100% Dwelling age should not exceed 50 years. Prior claims allowed but all damage must be repaired and could be subject to a claim surcharge. Must be in good condition and well maintained. No limiting or exclusion of coverage allowed. Minimum coverage $125,000. Max coverage $400,000. • Dwelling age must not exceed 35 years. • No claims within the last three years that exceed $1,000. • No limiting or exclusion of coverage allowed. • Must be owner occupied. • Must be in excellent condition and well maintained. • Minimum coverage $125,000. • Max coverage $400,000.

Homeowners: Level 3: HG-3 Standard 85% Level 4: Variable Replacement Will offer 50%, 60% or 70% of the RCT Dwelling must be occupied, in good condition and well maintained. • Dwelling age should not exceed 75 years. • Prior claims allowed but all damage must be repaired and could be subject to a claim surcharge. • Limiting and exclusion of coverage allowed. • Minimum coverage $50,000 • Max coverage $350,000

  14. Homeowners: Level 5: HG-2 ACV 50% • Dwelling can exceed 75 years or older. • No RC-90, RC-106 or RC-107 will be allowed. • Minimum coverage $25,000.

  15. Rented Dwellings: • Insurance coverage for dwellings and other rented structures • Plus loss of rent that you may incur in the event of a loss.

Farmowners: Level 5: RC-54 C/Dwelling 50% Level 6: RC-41P ACV 50% Will be placed in either class B, C or D depending on the minimum coverage amount and the condition of the structure. • Dwelling can exceed 75 years or older • No RC-90, RC-106 or RC-107 will be allowed • Minimum coverage $25,000

  21. Unscheduled Farm Personal Property: • Livestock & Poultry • Hay, Silage & Straw • Farm Products • Miscellaneous Equipment • Farm Machinery • Harvesting • RC-399: Non-Depreciation of Repairs • Blanket must be insured at 100% of ACV

  23. Unacceptable Risks: • Wood burning stoves used as primary heat source • 60 AMP electrical service • Vicious dogs such as Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinschers and Rottweiler's • Canceled or nonrenewed for any reason • Vacant property • Undergoing renovation

Claims Handling: • 24 Hour claim reporting (Call in or Online) • Fast/dependable claim service by a HMIC employee • Use of specialized tools in the fieldsuch as the latest in laptop/tablet technology coupled with mobile Wi-Fi to be connected in the field. • Some of Heartland’s property inspectors and adjusters are certified drone pilots. Our drones are used primarily for roof inspections. • These types of technology have given our adjusters the ability to connect to the main office to review policy information, access our claim management system, complete inspection reports, complete cost estimates, review desktop files and communicate directly to the underwriters via Skype/Slack or e-mail.
