Session Objectives • Introduce participants to the BEC and its on-line information resources • Familiarize participants with Educator Certification in Florida • Familiarize participants with information provided via available resources • Instruct participants how to access each resource • Advise participants who is authorized for access to each resource • Inform participants of reporting based on certification data

Certification Purpose and Mission • Purpose: To protect the educational interests of students, parents, and the public at large by assuring that teachers in this state are professionally qualified. • Mission: To provide timely, accurate and efficient certification services to increase the supply of highly qualified, certified educators, improving achievement for all students.
