  • Hi my name is Will. My animal is a artic fox.

  • The artic fox is a mammal. The Latin name is AlopexLagopus. Artic fox live from 3 to 6 years old. The artic fox is related to wolves, dogs and other fox.


Characteristics

  • During summer the artic fox are brown but during winter they are white. Artic fox are the size of a domestic cat. Male artic fox weighs 7lbs. and the female artic fox weighs 6lbs.

  • Artic fox are mostly found in the Artic Circle. Some are found on the edges of Canada, Russia and Alaska. Artic fox eat lemmings , insects , eggs, dead animals and birds. It is a omnivore, scavenger and carnivore.

Artic fox have long bushy tails and white bushy coats to keep warm in winter. Artic fox have thick hair pads on the bottom of their feet to create friction on ice.

The artic fox can survive temperatures as low as -58 degrees. On the coast of the Artic there is a blueishartic fox during winter but during summer they are chocolate brown.
