  4. Nunavut Territory 1. Nunavut became Canada’s third Territory on April 1,1999. 2. Nunavut is made up of a mainland & many islands in the Arctic Ocean. 3. There are about 26 settlements and the capital is Iqaluit. 4. Iqaluit means the place of many fish.

  5. Nunavut Continued INDUSTRY: 5. Tourism-People come to fish, hike, camp, hunt, and to see the wildlife. 6. Mining-Copper, Lead, Silver, Zinc, Iron, Gold, Diamonds, & Oil. • Fishing-Whitefish and Arctic Char • Factories-Packaging the raw fish & meat

  6. Manitoba 7. Manitoba is 1 of the 3 largest prairie provinces in Canada. 8. Capital city and largest city is: Winnipeg. 9. Population of Manitoba= 1,177,600 10. Winnipeg’s population= 706,900
