  2. Question • Which type of bread molds quickest?

  3. Hypothesis • I believe that the White Buttermilk bread will form mold the quickest, due to the presence of the buttermilk.

  4. Materials • The following materials were required for the experiment: • 100% whole Grain Rye Bread • 100% Whole Grain Pumpernickel Bread • White Enriched Bread • White Bread • Wheat Bread • White Enriched Bread Made With Buttermilk • Plastic rap • Cutting board

  5. Procedure • A selection of five different types of bread containing preservatives was made. • Three slices of each type of bread were staked, rapped with plastic rap, and labeled. • The breads were kept under the same conditions for a period of 20 days. • During this period the breads were monitored daily regarding the progression of the mold. • At the completion of the project, the bread that molded the most was identified.
