  4. Roundtable/Brainstorming #1 • Open discussion • The roundtable structure is a method of brainstorming ideas (Osborne, 1963). Brainstorming generates a large number of ideas in a short period of time. Explanations, evaluations, and questions are not permitted as the ideas are generated. To start, the instructor asks a question that has a large number of possible answers. Each group is given one piece of paper (or transparency). The paper is passed around the group and students write down their answers at the same time stating them out loud. This process continues until the students run out of possible solutions (Millis and Cottell, 1998). After the brainstorming, instructors give time for the team to review and clarify their ideas. If needed, the group can present the ideas generated to the rest of the class

  5. Roundtable/Brainstorming #2 • ROUND-table. In other words, the table has no beginning and no end. There is no head of the table (so to speak). In other words, every one's input should be considered equal. Everybody has a say.

Leadbitter About me….Mike Baynham • Brought up in Newtown, Mid Wales • Studied Construction Management since I was 16 • Graduated from University of Glamorgan in 1999 • After graduating I worked for Amey Building followed by Mowlem/Carillion Building • Became a PM in 2004 • Became a Charted Builder (MCIOB) in 2009 • In September 2010 I joined Leadbitter Construction as a Framework Leader at Swansea University
