  4. System Update Madison Site -- Adding a repeater to the Madison site to help with traffic that exceeds capacity. Mix of funding sources to accomplish.

  5. 700 MHZ Update Todd is finalizing the report, we have set a tentative date of November 10, 2010 as the meeting for public input on the plan. While we see limited voice use for the 700mhz spectrum, it can be waivered for use in data systems, broadband applications, etc.

  9. 2011 Disaster Emergency Communications Planning for Federal Support to South Dakota Kick-Off Meeting Monday – 29 November, 2010 10:00 – 12:00 hours Location:State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Mickelson Center 1302 E. Highway 14 Pierre, SD 57501 OBJECTIVES Identify key planning factors and timeline to develop and implement a comprehensive, integrated Federal, State and local communications plan for catastrophic disaster response during 2011. The communications plan will identify specific communications assets available to disaster response managers and harmonize interoperability issues. Identify State and local communications capabilities and requirements for disaster response to all hazards. Provide situational awareness of current tactical communications capabilities. AGENDA Overview of issue and introductions – Pat Sarin; DHS/FEMA Region VIII and Jeff Pierce; South Dakota - BIT Engineering FEMA 2011 emergency communications planning strategy – Kurt Schlegel; FEMA Contractor Support Discussion about expectations and products Interview schedule Identify Points of Contact (POCs) Situational awareness – South Dakotacommand and control (C2) communications capabilities, needs, and concerns Organization, activation and management of critical mission activities including evacuation, sheltering, search and rescue, medical, commodities, and debris removal.
