  2. For the law enforcement, the Central Electoral Commission approved the Regulation on the financing of election campaigns and political parties by decision no. 2167 of February 20, 2009. Chapter V of the regulationprovides: 16. The Central Electoral Commission and District Electoral Councils may ask the Court of Auditors or the Main State Tax Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance, to carry out an audit of income sources, the accuracy of records and use of the money as intended by the candidates. In the case the audit carried out at the request of the Central Electoral Commission by the special bodies, shows that political party registered as electoral candidate received or used funds in violation of the Law on political parties, the Central Electoral Commission will address the Supreme Court with a request to cancel its registration as an electoral candidate. Supreme Court will consider the request and issue a decision within five days but not later than one day before the election. 17. For breaching the Electoral Code, the Central Electoral Commission can apply penalty in the form of warning.
