  2. George Washington • He was the first President of the United States • Signed the Declaration of Independence. • Was the Commander of the Continental Army.

  3. The Liberty Bell • Was first called, ‘‘The State House Bell’’ • Weighed 2,080 cost 300 dollars • Pennsylvania is misspelled on the bell • Every state has a duplicate of the bell. • ‘‘Proclaim liberty through out all the land until all the inhabitant there off. Meaning as much for the future as the past.’’

  5. The American Flag • Over the years the name of the flag has been changed 27 times. • The first flag had a Union Jack and a symbol of Great Britain. • The flag’s nickname is, “The Stars and Stripes.”

  6. The Blue Star Banner • The Blue Star Banner represents someone who is fighting in the war. • The U.S. flag represents millions who have died between World War I and World War II. • The army captain, Robert L. Quissner, put the Blue Star Bannerinto equipment
