  1. Oh My God

  2. What does Jesus say about himself? Following Jesus has a COST When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave the orders to cross to the other side of the lake. Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” Another disciple said to him, “Lord first t me go and bury my father.”…

  3. What does Jesus say about himself? Following Jesus has a COST … But Jesus told him, “Follow me and let the dead bury the dead.” Matthew 8:18-22 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:37-39

  4. What does Jesus say about himself? He is the GOOD SHEPHERD I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me. Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:11-15

  5. What does Jesus say about himself? He has the power to perform MIRACLES When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor… Matthew 11:2-6

  6. What does Jesus say about himself? He has the power to perform MIRACLES Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you .” Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then the lame will leap like deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy… Isaiah 35:4-6

  7. What does Jesus say about himself? Jesus said we will do miracles in HIS NAME Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me: or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:11-14

  8. What does Jesus say about himself? He came to bring GLORY TO GOD “I am not possessed by a demon,” said Jesus, “but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. “Father, the time has come, Glorify your Son, that your Son my glorify you.” John 17:1 “I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.” John 17:4

  9. What does Jesus say about himself? He came set SINNERS FREE Jesus replied, “ I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:34-36

  10. What does Jesus say about himself? Jesus did only the WILL OF HIS FATHER “For I have come down from heaven not to do the will of him who sent me.” John 6:38 So Jesus said, “ When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. The one who sent me is with me: he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” Even as he spoke, many put their faith in him. John 8:28-30

  11. What does Jesus say about himself? Jesus did only the WILL OF HIS FATHER “For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and bow to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.” John 12:49-50

  12. What does Jesus say about himself? Jesus came to DIVIDE PEOPLE “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn “’a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’” Matthew 10:34-36

  13. What does Jesus say about himself? Jesus is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “ I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:5 “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” John 12:46

  14. What does Jesus say about himself? If the world hated him; they will HATE US “Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. John 15:20-21
