  3. MFIP Finance provisions • Earned income disregard increased to 50% • Effective Oct. 1, 2014

  4. MFIP Finance provisions • Authority for pursuing a TANF waiver. Effective immediately. • Work Benefit suspension – Effective Dec. 1, 2014 • Performance funding. 2.5% bonus to high performing counties. • $1,500,000 per year for bonus funding • Effective calendar year 2016

  5. MFIP Finance provisions • Grants complementing TANF waiver and MFIP reform proposals • Paid work experience - $2,168,000 FY15-16 • Work study - $250,000 FY15-16 • Strategies to reduce disparities - $2 mil. FY15-16 • Teen parent home visiting - $500,000 per year • Effective July 1, 2013

  6. MFIP Finance provisions • Family cap repeal • Cost of approx. $3.6 mil. Per year • Effective Jan. 1, 2015

  7. MFIP Finance provisions • Housing assistance grant • $110 per month grant to eligible households • Households that receive a housing subsidy and/or child-only households are not eligible for the grant. • Approx. $23 mil. Per year • Effective July 1, 2015

  8. What’s next? • Waiver application to U.S. HHS • Implementation and planning of MFIP items that were funded …remember many different effective dates. • Continued pursuit of policy bill passage in 2014 legislative session.
