  3. EOP • EOP has about 2,000 employees & a budget of more than $100 million • These are the people who work the closest to the president. • They help him accomplish his many duties

  4. EOP • -The most important parts of the EOP are: -White House Office -Office of Management and Budget (OMB) -National Security Council (NSC) -Office of Administration -Council of Economic Advisors (CEA)

  5. EOP • White House Office- close political advisors, lawyer, press secretary, etc screen the flow of information & people trying to reach the president.

  6. EOP • Office of Management and Budget (OMB)- prepare the federal budget and monitors spending of federal agencies

  7. EOP • National Security Council (NSC)-helps president coordinate the military & foreign policy

  8. EOP • Office of Administration: provides administration services to all of the executive offices.

  9. EOP • Council of Economic Advisors (CEA)-help president carryout his role as economic leader.

  10. The Cabinet • The President also gets help from his cabinet, which is a group of advisors that include the heads of the 15 top-level executive departments. • -The heads of the departments are called secretary (secretary of state), except for the head of the Department of Justice, who is referred to as the attorney general.
