“You cannot bind such on others!”

“When a male causes a female to be with child, he has a duty to her and his baby that can only be fully exercised in the marriage circumstance” I affirm: Don Martin. “You cannot bind such on others!” “To bind on others is to pronounce them in sin if ‘they’ elect not to marry.”

  1. “When a male causes a female to be with child, he has a duty to her and his baby that can only be fully exercised in the marriage circumstance” I affirm: Don Martin

  2. “You cannot bind such on others!” “To bind on others is to pronounce them in sin if ‘they’ elect not to marry.” “As an elder, you are running rough-shod over others and it is either your way or the highway!”

  3. “We believe there are options and that a male may elect not to marry the woman carrying or having his baby and still be a faithful Christian and father.” Options are in general: Abortion. Female will raise child alone (career). Adoption.

  4. “Our son needs to finish school.” “Daughter needs to finish school.” “He has fallen out of love.” “The marriage probably will not work.” “Not enough money.” “They are immature.” “My son was tricked by sex.”

  5. “If they marry, they will be miserable.” Some one is not being considered: The female carrying the baby. The mother of the expecting girl. The father of the expecting girl. The grandparents.

  6. Emphasis is usually on the couple, as a rule the male who has caused the female to be with child.

  7. We hear about the “options” to not marry and provide a family, but what options does the baby have? We hear about the “rights” of the male who provided his sperm, but what rights belong to the baby? 1. Right to be born with his father’s name (cp. Heb. 12: 7-10). 2. The right to a home – have live in mother and father.

  8. 3. The right to the nurture of a God ordained home (Gen. 1: 26, 2: 24). It is in the God ordained home that the child learns love (Eph. 5: 22 – 6: 4). They learn discipline. They experience security. They learn headship.

  9. They learn what a family is. The child learns about God from teaching and example.

  10. “When a male causes a female to be with child, he has a duty to her and his baby that can only be fully exercised in the marriage circumstance” I affirm: Don Martin
