  1. THE AWESTRUCK • LIFE

  2. Awestruck • To be “awestruck” is to be filled with admiration and respect at someone or something. It is the response to something so terrible, so great, so powerful, so beautiful or so good that it leaves the one who encounters it overwhelmed with elation, reverence, or fear.

  3. Your Christian life is rich, satisfying, unshakable and fervent to the degree that you are awestruck at God’s person and work. • 28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.” (Heb 12) AWESTRUCK

  4. The Unapproachable Mountain

  5. The Welcoming City

  6. The Awestruck Life • The awestruck life reflects on God’s great goodness as revealed in the Scriptures. Then cries out to him for help to truly see him and for help to never lose sight of God’s holiness and his mercy and loving favor displayed in the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus.

  7. The Awestruck Life • The awestruck life is free from pride. • The awestruck life is full: it’s filled with gratitude and awe that leads to eager obedience. • The awestruck life unquestioningly obeys

  8. Jim Elliot • “We are so utterly ordinary, so commonplace, while we profess to know a Power the Twentieth Century does not reckon with…. We are “sideliners” — coaching and criticizing the real wrestlers while content to sit by and leave the enemies of God unchallenged. The world cannot hate us, we are too much like its own. Oh that God would make us dangerous!”
