  1. 2013-2014 Bullying Survey Results

  2. This School Year 1,254 of Etowah’s student’s were surveyed about the school climate regarding bullying 588 males 653 females 13 people skipped this question and are still trying to figure out how to use Survey Monkey. We will have a separate TAA for them…

  3. 84 % of the students surveyed stated that they knew how the Student Code of Discipline Defines Bullying. 16% of students surveyed stated that they did not know the definition of bullying stated in the Student Code Of Discipline Only 51% Correctly chose the definition of BULLYING

  4. Students were asked “How many times they had been bullied this school year?” 75 % said they had not been bullied Great News! Now the BAD… 52 students surveyed had been bullied 2 or 3 times a month 25 students had been bullied once a week 53 students had been bullied several times a week

  5. Of the students surveyed instances of bullying were twice as likely to be perpetrated by males over females almost 2 to 1

  6. Where do you think most instances of Bullying take place here at Etowah? Here are the top three… 1. Hallways/Courtyard 2. Class 3. Cafeteria/Lunchroom

  7. Students were also asked “What forms of Bullying took place here?” What do you think is the most often used form of Bullying??? Verbal:(called names, made fun or teased, spread lies and false rumors; also, it can include issues of race and sexual orientation)

  8. Of the students surveyed 193 students admitted they had bullied someone at least once. Of those 193 students, 23 students admitted to BULLYING someone several times a week!

  9. In order for us to help stop Bullying it has to be reported! According to the survey an overwhelming majority of students who were bullied either told their friends or did not report it to school faculty (Administration, Teachers, Counselors) Only about 5 % of students who are bullied actually report it to a person who can take action to stop it…

  10. We are all here to help stop it. Take the first step by reporting any instance of Bullying to any administrator, teacher or counselor. You can also report Bullying anonymously on the Etowah Website Home Page Following the link at the bottom of the page.
