  2. “All But My Life” Gerda was able to survive her imprisonment by Nazis by the memories of her family and her happy childhood home.

  3. “All But My Life” One reason Gerda survived the Death March was because she obeyed her dad and wore ski boots on the day she was taken away.

  4. “All But My Life” Gerda got her life back when she married the American soldier that liberated her from the Nazis. He was a German Jew whose parents had sent him to America.
