COACHING DETAILS Thursday, October 15, & Friday, October 16, 2015 BACKGROUND • This year, Diversity Woman is pleased to hold it’s third one-on-one coaching sessions as a complimentary offering during this year’s conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with a coach for a 30 minute one-on one meeting that take place during the conference breakout sessions. • The Leadership Coaching sessions will be scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. Advanced sign up is required. Attendees are asked to sign up for up to one (1) session. • Attendees can state their preference by whom they wish to be coached, but matches are not guaranteed. During the evening reception on Wednesday, October 14, Diversity Woman facilitates the introductions between the coach and the coachee. OCTOBER 15, 2015[LOCATION: ASBURY C] Morning Sessions 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Morning Time Block A: 11:00 am – 11:30 am 15 min. transition 11:30 am – 11:45 pm Morning Time Block B: 11:45 am – 12:15 pm Afternoon Sessions 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm Afternoon Time Block A: 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm 15 min. transition 3:00 pm – 3:15 pm Afternoon Time Block B: 3:15 pm – 3:45 pm OBJECTIVES • We negotiate every day. We negotiate with co-workers, bosses, subordinates, clients, salespeople, and many others. Coaching can help identify the source of challenge (internal or external or both) and help devise a strategy to remove, work around or change direction. The Diversity Woman’s coaching initiative is designed to build the woman leaders understanding, skill, and/or confidence so that she or he can achieve better outcomes for a particular negotiation. Examples of obstacles or challengers may include: • time management • inadequate visibility • bias or stereotypes • team, or peer conflict • challenging organizational culture • lack of sponsors or mentors • inadequate network connections PREPARATION: Attendees are asked to consider in advance the below questions/scenario: • What do I want? • Why do I want it? • Why don’t I have it (what is in the way)? • "I would like to ________ but ________ poses an obstacle.
