  2. Historical Background • Damanhour University was first established as Damanhour Branch which was a branch from Alexandria University in 1979. Damanhour branch dreamed and tried hard all over many years to complete the necessary elements for being an independent University until the dream turned true and Damanhour branch became an independent university in 2010.

Damanhour University has 10 colleges, • College of Education. • College of Agriculture. • College of Arts. • College of Commerce. • College of Nursing. • College of Sciences. • College of Kindergarten. • College of Veterinary Medicine. • College of Pharmacy. • College of Dentistry. • Institute of Graduate Studies and Env Research

  5. Current Situation • Graduate Studies will Start 2016-2017 academic year • Dean, and two vice dean • We are currently in the process of hiring new staff members • One problem: the road to the institute is a farm road (50 kilometers and take 1hr:30min)

  6. Facilities • Has very well furnished labs • 60 hr of good cultivated land • 6 large green houses • 4 buildings surrounded by 25 hr of land • Employee for all depts

  7. Projects Submitted • Since the institute is research institute, more emphasis is on the equipment. Several Research proposal was submitted • Proposal for establishing farm animal diagnostics lab (capacity building STDF), preliminary acceptance, in collaboration with College of Veterinary Medicine. • Proposal submitted to Ministry of International Collaboration, to establish service lab for soil analysis, water analysis and plant disease diagnosis, (under revision), 10 million LE. • Other proposals in line

  9. Participation in the project • The goal of the project is “Agriculture land conservation: through the improvement of modernization and internationalization of the quality of higher education institution. • Increasing scientific teaching technical capabilities of the staff and students.

  10. Participation in the project • The Institute will work in collaboration with Soil science Dept, Faculty of Ag., Dam Univ. • The activities include the following • Mobility of students and staff for training • Providing faculties with materials for teaching and training such as • Video lessons • E-learning • Educational ghames

  11. Others • We are here to discuss in details the other aspect of collaboration. • Other tasks will be taken as well.
