  1. Tips on Choosing the Best IP Network Video Recorder When it comes to quality video images, IP-based video surveillance systems have become quite popular. You can either choose an IP camera with a VMS (Video Management Software) or a dedicated NVR (Network Video Recorder) for setting up the new system. As far as commercial or professional surveillance applications are concerned, you can enjoy uninterrupted video recording and video footage management with an IP based network video recorder. The network video recorder integrates video recording, front end management as well as network transmission. A NVR can be categorized by the number of channels it supports. Mostly 4, 9, 16, 24, 32 and 64 channels are used in video surveillance systems nowadays. A maximum of 128 or 256 channels video recording and management can be used by some of the top quality network video recorders. There has been a considerable rise in demand for NVRs as IP surveillance systems have become popular. Today, you get to select from different NVRs. Here are a few factors to consider when choosing a quality network video recorder:  You need to look for the best recording resolution and channels. You can opt for 1080P which is a full high definition resolution. This will be quite useful if you are setting up a full HD surveillance system. You also need to consider how many IP cameras will be connected to it along with the scope for expansion in future. Let us understand this with an example. If you are currently planning to install 4 IP cameras in the system but you may want to expand it in few years to cover monitoring blind spots, it is better to choose a network video recorder with 8/9 channels. Second factor to consider when selecting the right NVR is interoperability. It is recommended to use a NVR that has good interoperability. Even appropriate HDD storage interface is required. This is because mega video storage space is needed in IP based video surveillance system which is different from the conventional CCTV DVR system. This space is used for recording high definition resolution video footage. The user needs to estimate how much video storage space will be needed in order to achieve the desired recording days. Another factor to consider is the alarm I/O and audio I/O interface. The NVR you choose should have these interfaces besides the primary recording and playback function. Through these interfaces, it becomes easy for the network video recorder to work with other security devices such as access control, intrusion detection sensors and the burglar alarm system. Two way audio broadcasting can be ensured through the audio I/O interface.   VideoAnalytics In surveillance, even video analytics matter. It is a software that is meant for helping users review the growing hours of surveillance video that a security guard may never have time for watching. By using video analytics, the video surveillance
