Wednesday, 7 March 2012 – DAY 1 • We met early in the morning at 4 a.m. in front of our school waiting for the bus which was freezing cold. We arrived at Hotel FTC at 11 a.m. • After unpacking, we went for a walk to get some water and to find a host school which was, luckily for us, a quarter of an hour walk through a nearby park. • Lunch followed – steaks and potato rolls with sweet-and-sour cabbage. • In the afternoon we met our hosts at Vajda Péter Ének-zenei Általános és Sportiskola. A lovely sport programme was organized for all guests. Neverhteless, we fought as brave as lions to win a bar of chocolate. • While preparing our own dinner, which was a part of a social programme, we mingled and exchanged facebook addresses. • Shortly afterword, we hit a rode to the hotel.
Thursday, 8 March 2012 – DAY 2 After enjoying our dinner at school, learning some Hungarian words while talking to our new friends ,we were taken to a sighseeing tour to view Budapest at night. It was cold, but marvellous. When we came to our hotel, we had to practise to be good at presentations. At 9 a.m. we took a tube to visit a deputy mayoress – what a sofisticated and nice lady who was a teachr once, too. Everybody got an umbrella as a present. We had a cup of warm tea at a shopping centre, a sightseeing tour, lunch at school and a concert in the afternoon.
Friday, 9 March 2012 – DAY 3 • We were picked up at half past eight and were headed to the Hungarian House of Parliament. A building itself was gorgeous. There was a guided tour through the parliament. • A delicious lunch in school followed. After eating up, we were taken to the castle where we were put in mixed groups and asked to solve the problems. What a challenging task! • Presentations followed when we were back at school. Pupils of each country presented events and important days which happen in specific months during a year. We were talking about the events in January, February, March and April. The Hungarians and Germans were responsible for other months. At the end, we made a huge “Calendar pizza”. • A dinner followed and the presents were given to students and hosts.
Saturday, 10 March 2012 – DAY 4 • We had a geography lesson in Pálvölgyi cave, the longest one in the Buda Hills and the third longest in the country, is a highly protected natural preservation area since 1944. However, it was a lovely warm and sunny day. • The pizzas were eaten for lunch. • We could use all our science knowledge in Magic palace – House of experiments. • We went for a walk to Gellert Hill and had a sightseeing tour at night. What a lovely view! • There was a delicious farewell dinner at a restaurant. Totally exhausted, we went back to our hotel.
Sunday, 11 March 2012 – DAY 5 • After having strong breakfast, we said goodbye to the Germans and started to pack. • We were chatting on our way home and stopped at Marché restaurant to refresh and eat. • Then we made a report in English and German language. We introdused our memories and new words, which we learned during our trip in Budapest, to our teacher.
