What are the successful graduating Diploma holders telling us: • STUDY • Focus on the important events and tasks • Use a calendar • Use Facebook to communicate with other students • Meet with Dr. A regularly • Do not procrastinate • Eliminate extracurricular activities. • Apply to universities early • Meet with the teachers regularly • Be honest: DO NOT commit plagiarism • Do not give up

  3. Internal Assessment • Oral work in languages • Fieldwork in geography • Laboratory work in the sciences • Investigations in mathematics • Assessments are checked by an external examiner and normally contribute between 20% to 20% of the total mark. • Some art courses mat account as much a 50%.

  4. Requirement I: TOK Essay • Theory of Knowledge essay is developed from prescribed topics from IB. • The student have a hard copy. • Students will complete the essay in the TOK class • TOK essay: • Between 1200 to 1600 words in length (About 5 pages).

  5. Extended Essay • The extended essay is completed individually and the topic is from the approved DP subjects (normally 1 of the student’s six chosen subjects of the IB Diploma • Externally assessed • A piece of independent research chose by the student. • 4000 words • Research topic: • This will guide the research. • Measured against criteria

  6. CAS • 150 hours • Must complete all the documentation • Must meet with Dr. Arrieta regularly • The projects must be pre-approved by Dr. Arrieta
