Overview of the Planning Process “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 “Under His direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4:16 I. Understanding what a plan is!!! A. a road map—subject to detours and changes in direction. B. guided by the Holy Spirit.

  12. The charge to our planning commission is simple: 1. Ascertain where and what we are. 2. Determine where we want to go and what we want to be. 3. Decide the best ways we can get there.

  18. The Planning Process, continued VII. Conduct listening sessions to share priorities of strengths and weaknesses and to allow membership to make suggestions.

  19. The Planning Process, continued VIII. Develop one year, three year, and five year plans—both from stewardship and pastoral perspectives. A. One year plan to include 5 priorities from weakness list, plus maintaining top 5 strengths. B. Three year plan includes 10 priorities from weaknesses, plus maintenance of top 10 strengths. C. Five year plan includes all 15 from both lists.
