  4. What are the risks of smoking? • Nicotine raises your risk of heart attack and stroke. • Tar and carbon monoxide cause serious breathing problems. • Also tobacco smoke causes lung cancer and other types of cancer.

  5. What else? • Bad breath and stained teeth • Bad smell in clothes and hair and on skin • Lower athletic ability • Cough and sore throat • Faster heartbeat and raised blood pressure • Risk of second-hand smoke to people around you • Cost of smoking

  6. What else? • Risk of stomach ulcers and acid reflux • Risk of gum disease • Time lost working or having fun because you're sick • Wrinkles

  7. Smoking In Summary • Tobacco is toxic (poison) to your body. It causes more health problems and early deaths than all illegal drugs combined. On top of that, tobacco is addictive. This means that once you start using it, your body starts to need it. The longer you use tobacco, and the more you use, the harder it is to stop. Everyone who smokes started by "just trying it." That's how the habit and the addiction begin. That’s why you are better of not starting.

  10. It is an addiction which means….. • God’s children are FREE • “All things are lawful for me……… under the power of any” 1Cor 6:12 • “Therefore if the son makes you free you shall be free indeed” John8:36

  11. Smoking is Selfishness • A smoker cares for him or herself not paying attention to what we call secondhand smokers effect and the dangers that go with it

Temple “Do you know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1Cor 3:16 “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” 1Cor 6:19 So where will God live; in a healthy or a sick temple?

  13. So after knowing all these medical and biblical facts what would be your choice?
