  2. Quick Projects • Header for each plant page • Background Image

  3. Creating a Header • Open Illustrator CS5 • Select “Web Document” • Name your file according to your plant • Width = 1000, Height = 100 • “OK” • Go to View and select “Actual Size”

  4. Creating a Header • A menu bar should appear to the left or right of your new work space. • Here you may select the background color of your header, the font, etc… • Save your header according to your plant. • Save to your desktop

  5. Creating a Background • Open Illustrator CS5 • Select “Web Document” • Name your file “my_bg” • Width = 100 and Height = 100 • Save to your desktop

  6. Creating a Background • Make a square that extends beyond the workspace. • Go to Window and select either “Graphic Style Libraries” then “Textures” OR select “Swatch Libraries” then “Patterns”… • These are all types of textures or designs.

  7. Art to Image • Save your art as an image. • We will save both as .jpg to the desktop. • Go to File and select “Save for Web and Devices” • Select “JPEG” and click “Save” • Save to your desktop.
