Progress Update • There has been an amazing amount of work and information produced • Challenges, barriers, milestones, science motivators • The EarthCube website will be updated with the information from the charette • You have defined capabilities that have expressed the scope of EarthCube • You have identified the first sets of steps for these capabilities • Tremendous number of fruitful discussions • Necessary, extensive but not yet complete

  2. Directions to Move Forward • Summarize the significant progress by the groups • Catalyze the community • Extend the reach of the EarthCube process • Outline and develop a two pager • Will be uploaded to the EarthCube site • New collaborations from the charrette

  3. Two-Pager Instructions • Page One -- one or more of these topics: 1. Strategic Organizational Framework for EarthCube 2. Development of a New Capability 3. Progress on a Critical Milestone for current capabilities • Page Two: • Scientific motivation, resultant advances and team

  4. Post Charrette • NSF 11-085 • Opportunity to submit an EAGER • November to April • Awards are listed on the NSF Awards website • Other funding opportunities in GEO and OCI • This is an open process and is available to all researchers

  5. Post Charrette • Additional information from the charrette will appear on the EarthCube web pages • Next major step is to reassess and extend the capabilities at a follow up event • Stay tuned to the EarthCube website and the NSF GEO/OCI web pages • Continued contact – earthcube@nsf.gov
