  • Initially the embroidery was done using hands, later with the developing world the embroidery also developed and is being done using Machines. The various types of embroidery include,

  • 1.Surface Embroidery 2. Candlewick Embroidery

  • 3.Red work Embroidery 4. Crewel Embroidery

  • 5.Cross Stitch 6. Blue work Embroidery

  • Candlewick Embroidery –

  • Candlewicking is a type of embroidery that includes

  • the whitework having designs & patterns made of

  • Colonial knots arranged in intricate patterns.

  • Red work embroidery is just another type of

  • embroidery work that uses red thread on

  • white or natural-colored fabric. It is

  • mostly used in surface embroidery

  • and cross stitch.

  • Crewel Embroidery –

  • Crewel is a type of decorative surface

  • Embroidery that includes plants, animals

  • and sometimes people, arranged in a

  • fanciful, flowing design or repeating

  • pattern.

  • Blue work Embroidery –

  • Blue work Embroidery is an embroidery that

  • uses only blue thread on white or antural

  • colored fabric.

  • originated in Spain.
