  3. Warm Up 9/15 • What did the Louisiana Purchase do to the United States? • What benefits/problems could come from this? • How do you think Americans felt about it?

  4. Federalists were unhappy Majority of Federalists were from the Northeast. They wanted a strong central government rather than states rights. They opposed Thomas Jefferson and other Democratic-Republicans of the South who felt citizen rights and expansion were necessary. They weren’t exactly thrilled with the Louisiana Purchase

Title a page in your notebook“Louisiana Purchase” • Make a chart similar to the one given, just not as big of boxes!!! • Document A – together • Document B • Source: What position do you think these people will take? • Context: • 1. What were Federalists concerned about? • 2. How did Federalists feel about Jefferson? • 3. Provide evidence to support the claim about the Federalists

(In other words, did the Federalists have real concerns, or did they just hate Jefferson?)
