2. PROGRAM PLANNING DETERMINE OBJECTIVES OF PLAN What do you want to accomplish with this plan in terms of performance and overall athlete development? Primary Objectives Secondary Objectives (short term {1 year} & long term {3-5 years})

3. PROGRAM PLANNING Evaluate the previous year’s plan and actual achievements (Strengths & Weaknesses). Consider the following Physical preparation; energy systems strength/speed/power flexibility recovery & regeneration peaking others

4. PROGRAM PLANNING Evaluate the previous year’s plan and actual achievements (Strengths & Weaknesses). Consider the following technical/sport specific skill training plan related to competition plan related to tactical preparation plan related to psychological preparation plan related to other matters

5. PROGRAM PLANNING Establish current year and long term priorities for athlete preparation. Consider Physical preparation Technical preparation Tactical preparation Mental preparation Competitions Other

6. PROGRAM PLANNING Determine dates of all major phases of the training year. General Preparation Specific Preparation Precompetition Competition Transition Start from the end!

7. PROGRAM PLANNING Once major phases established, you can then detail Micro and Macrocycles of your annual plan. Single, Double, Multiple Periodization model.

8. PROGRAM PLANNING Estimate the percentage distribution of the conditioning factors into all phases.
