TSDL Project • What is this? • Teacher Student Data Link Project • Opportunity for teachers to review class rosters and set % of instructional time for each student • Why are we doing ‘linkage’? • HB555 established rules regarding the OTES (teacher evaluation system) • Teacher reports must be used for the purpose of evaluating the educator and to what extent (%) they are used. • Since teacher evaluations depend on value-added measurements, teachers should have a say in the data (rather than just using EMIS data).

  5. TSDL Project • What is the Process? • DASL Extracts • SIS Data Loader (web) • BFK Data Loader (application) • Principal Review • Teachers verify • Principal ‘sign-off’ • Data sent to SAS • Reports go directly to teacher via EVAAS web site (September-ish)

  7. TSDL Project • SIS Data Loader • Loads 4 files into a ‘Staging’ database • Creates a ‘batch’ to be processed in the next step. • BFK Data Load Tool • Aligns SIS data with ‘standard’ coding • Looks for bad data • Loads data into ‘production’

  8. TSDL Project • If ‘bad’ data is found, suggestion is to resolve in DASL • ACCESS will contact you • Prevents problems in future years • Could improve EMIS reporting • Will have to start the process over after correction is made

  9. TSDL Project • Things you can do now…… • Verify Staff email addresses • Verify Staff State ID • Verify Student Schedules/Class Lists

  11. TSDL Project • Timelines • All data loaded by April 8th • Start of trainings (April 8th -19th) • School ‘setup’ or principal review • April 8th – 23rd • Verify staff lists and staff assignments • Teacher roster verification • April 24th – May 14th

  12. TSDL Project • Timelines • Principal review and sign-off • May 15th – June 5th • Principals do final review of classes and staff • EVAAS Reports • Returned to teachers in fall
