  2. Building a dynamic promotion • There are three components to building a promotion 1) Building an item list 2) The coupon and credit SKU 3) The promotion

Building an item list • If the list consists of less than 20 items • Type in the SKU’s while building the promotion in MDP • Once the list is built, select the list from the “Item List” drop down. • If the list consists of more than 20 items • Build list in “LISTS” function in Eagle Compass program • This list can be added manually or imported from Excel • Note: For either input method, the list type needs to be “B” for Dynamic Promotion

  4. To add list from Excel • Build the list within the spreadsheet or export from an inventory viewer • Add the SKU numbers (do not include headers, titles or numbers) • Save file as “Text (Tab delimited)(*.txt)” • From the “Item List Maintenance” screen, import the text file into a list

  5. Building the coupon and credit SKU’s • The fields that need to be filled in are: • Stocking Tab • Department • Prime Vend (not required but helpful for easy lookup of mobile coupons) • Location (not required but helpful for easy lookup of mobile coupons) • Pricing Tab • Retail “0.001” • Cost “0.001” • Codes Tab • Tax status “N” • Keep Stock Info “N” • Keep Prices “Y”

  6. Credit SKU • Using the Eagle Compass program: build a credit SKU for each individual coupon • Other programs: Use a generic SKU for every coupon

  7. Building the promotion • The mobile coupons are built through Dynamic Promotions (MDP) • The promotions are manually activated and deactivated by clicking the “Schedule” button in the MDP toolbar and switching the “Active” option • Note: • The promotion will apply to every transaction if you do not add a coupon SKU • A credit SKU is required for the promotion to go through at the register. If you did not add the SKU, select “Change” in the setup and select the promotion and input the credit SKU.
