CURRENT STATUS • Weekly Video Meetings Continue • CFS WBS Draft and Internal CFS Review Complete • CFS WBS Dictionary First Draft Ready for Internal Review - 02.10.06 • Points of Contact with Area System Groups to be Finalized at 02.13/14.06 Fermilab Meeting • CFS Draft WBS and Dictionary will be Provided to the Design and Cost Board Prior to GDE Meeting in Bangalore 2 of 5 GDE Executive Committee Meeting 02.09.06 V. STRATEGY FOR WBS/COST DEVELOPMENT • Identify WBS Line Item Elements • Generate the First Draft WBS Dictionary • Review Level of Detail Hierarchy and Line Item Elements • Complete First Draft Internal (CFS) Review and Incorporate Adjustments as Needed • Interact with Design and Cost Board to Resolve the Issue of System- Area-Discipline vs. System-Discipline-Area Hierarchy • Populate WBS Based on Existing Available Cost Data, Updated to Current Criteria and Review • Working with Area System Contacts, Develop Schematic Drawings and Criteria on which to Base the CFS Cost Estimating Effort • Iterate Cost Data as More Defined Criteria is Developed 3 of 5 GDE Executive Committee Meeting 02.09.06 V. NEAR TERM MILESTONES • Prior to Bangalore • Develop Final Draft of CFS WBS and Dictionary and Provide to Design and Cost Board • Identify Points of Contact Between CFS and Area System Groups • At Bangalore • Formalize Communication with Points of Contact • Identify Means of Communication and Information Exchange • Encourage Participation in Weekly CFS Video Conferences • Bangalore to Vancouver • April - Divide CFS WSB into Three Parts. Each Region will Populate a Third of the WBS for Review by Full CFS Group. This will Identify Areas of the Cost Estimate that Require Further Definition and Revision and Needed Input from Area Systems • May - Continued Data Collection and Cost Development with a Full CFS Internal Review of First Draft Cost Estimate • June - Provide First Full Draft CFS Cost Data to Design and Cost Board and Area System Groups Prior to Vancouver Meeting 4 of 5 GDE Executive Committee Meeting 02.09.06 V. KUCHLER

Summary • There is A lot of Work to Do, but a Considerable Amount of Cost Data Already Exists and will be used as a Starting Point • The CFS Group as a Whole is Working Well Together and Can Be Supported by Regional Consultant Efforts • If Working Sessions Could be Incorporated into the Bangalore Agenda the CFS Group Would Definitely Use Them to Establish Avenues of Communication with the Various Area System Groups • The Time Between Vancouver and Valencia will be Spent Refining Our Cost Estimate and Formatting the Data on Which it is Based • The CFS Group will Identify Costs that Could Reasonably be Included as Part of a Region/Nation’s Bid to Host the ILC 5 of 5 GDE Executive Committee Meeting 02.09.06 V. KUCHLER
