  2. History of the Southborough’s CPA • Passed by the Southborough Voters in May of 2003 • Revenue collection began in July 2003 • Community Preservation Committee (CPC) approved and created in 2004 • First projects approved at Town Meeting 2005

  3. CPC Obligations • Develop CPA Plan for Southborough • Create application, criteria, and process for project funding • Review and make project recommendations for Town Meeting • Develop a five year Master Plan for the CPC

  4. Approved Projects • Open Space and Recreation Plan • Open Space GIS Data Layer • Historic Document Preservation and Storage Facilities • Creation of wildlife viewing at Breakneck Hill conservation land • Funding the Affordable Housing Trust • Preservation of Chestnut Hill Farm • Restoration of the Flagg School/Historical Society Museum • Southborough Community Oral History • Restoration of the All Wars Monument • Creation of the Triangle Park • Restoration of the South Union School • Application fees to add the South Union School to the National Register of Historic Places • Restoration of the Nichols House/Stony Brook Museum

  5. Projected Funds for 2009 Projects Estimated Available Funds $325,000* *Amount does not include Chestnut Hill Farm debt obligation

Application Process Obtain Plan and Application from www.southborocommunitypreservation.org • Understand Project Funding criteria as defined in the Town of Southborough Community Preservation Committee Plan • Complete and submit application by June 16, 2008 • Present Project to CPC • Attend Selectmen and Advisory Meetings when CPC meeting are reviewed • Attend Town Meeting
