The Academic Resume Record EVERYTHING you did as a high school student: volunteer work, clubs, sports, employment, challenging classes, test scores, camps, etc. Most scholarships require an Academic Resume Most adults need this resume when writing your letter of recommendation Sample on website, but do some research

  14. What You Need To Apply For Scholarships 1. Academic Resume – as up to date as possible 2. THREE Letters of Recommendation from teachers, coaches, ministers, employers, etc 3. Official and Unofficial Transcripts

Tips Keep 5 or so copies of everything in a folder (resume, letters, transcript) so you are ready to apply on short notice Get a new, updated transcript at semester Make it easy on the people who write your letters; give them addressed and stamped envelopes with request Check FHS Scholarship site regularly
  16. But Wait! There is more! Keep a calendar of due dates Keep copies of applications When it says “post mark by…” it means take it to the post office and stand in line to get it stamped Send Thank You cards/notes to recommenders (AND to the numerous scholarship committees who give you scholarships!)
  17. Remember, if you want money for college… MEET THE DEADLINES!!
