  2. What is the difference between infectious and non-infectious diseases? • Infectious diseases are caused by microorganisms • Non-infectious diseases are caused by genetics, diet, etc.

Genetic disorders • Such as • White heifer disease - congenital abnormality of the reproductive organs of heifers resulting in sterility and occurring chiefly in white or nearly white animals of the Shorthorn breed • Mule foot - Syndactaly is the result of congenital fusion of the digits in calves, causing the animal to be born with one or more foot with only one claw • Select animals free of these diseases
