  2. The explosion A supernova is a stellar explosion. Supernovae are more powerful than regular novas. Supernovae are extremely luminous and cause a burst of energy that outshines a galaxy!!!!!!!!!! Nova is Latin for “New”. Type 1and 2 supernovae are triggered by fusion.

  3. The after shock • Supernovae expels much or all of its star material at the velocity of 10% of the speed of light!!!!!!! Also the brightness of a supernova can last for weeks or months!!!!!!

  4. The Stars • Solitary stars with a mass of nine solar masses although no supernova has been observed in the milky way since 1964!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. White Dwarf • A white dwarf will become a supernova in about 3 months !! Because of it’s core temperature enough to ignite carbon fusion!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. BOOOM!!!!!! SLIDE 6 WAS A SUPERNOVA exploding and releasing most of its star material at 10% of the speed of light!!!!!!!!!
