A LEADER YESTERDAY • One very important leader from the past was: • Gandhi • Preached non-violence • One of the most respected spiritual and political leaders in the 1900’s • Used words and fasting to impress upon others the logistics of a non-violent approach • Led the successful campaign of Indian independence from Great Britain

A LEADER TODAY Barack Obama Elected 44th president Graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School Learned eloquent and persuasive language which allowed him to be elected the first African-American president Appealing messages of hope, human compassion, military restraint and political negotiations have reverberated with voters of all ages

LEADERS TOMORROW South Cobb High School Students • Examples of graduated leaders from South Cobb: • Governor Roy Barnes • Terance Campbell and Kenny McKinley (football players) • Etc Etc • Students from South Cobb are intelligent, resourceful young adults who are destined to make significant marks in history.

  7. Quick Explanation Those four quotes were powerful to me because they were saying that to be a leader, such as an Eagle Ambassador, one must always remember to inspire others in way that will affect them positively.

  8. I THINK… • I believe that a leader: • Is someone that rises to the top of a group of people • Is an inspiration for others • States their opinion and allows others theirs • Works just as hard as their followers • Helps others realize their own leadership qualities with compassion and honesty
