Challenge #1 • In Groups: Draw and cut out a perfect cover for the top end of a soup can • You will need: scissors, one piece of construction paper, compass, ruler • Rules: • Cans must stay at the front of the room • You may only come up to measure once • You may only cut once • Put all names of group members on your cut out

Challenge #2 • In groups: Design a “label” that will fit perfectly around the can of soup • You will need: scissors, one piece of construction paper, ruler • Rules: • Cans must stay at the front of the room • You may only come up to measure once • You may only cut once • Put all names of group members on your cut out

  4. Suggestions: • Discuss/devise a plan before you start measuring or cutting • Practice your drawing on scratch paper before drawing on construction paper • Choose the “most steady hand” to do the cutting • Take more than one measurement (Ask each person in the group to measure)
