Model and Service Locations • Maricopa County – Elements Contract • County Staff handle Outreach, Recruitment, Eligibility, Enrollment, Service Referrals, and Case Management. • Contracted Agencies Deliver Service Elements Including Follow up: • ACYR, CPLC, ResCare and DK Advocates dba ANB Services • Service Locations: • WVCC, EVCC, Tempe, Mesa, Surprise, and Wickenburg. • Itinerant Services also provided at the Peoria Community Center and at the Avondale Rio Salado Adult Basic Education program. • City of Phoenix – Program Contract • Contracted Agencies handle Outreach, Recruitment, Eligibility, Enrollment, Service Provision, Case Management and Follow up. • Service Locations: • ACYR, CPLC, JFCS, and YMCA. • Referrals also come from the following One-Stop Locations: West Phoenix, South Phoenix and North Phoenix.

(60 – 90 Minutes) • Ability and Values • Arizona Career Information System (AZCIS) Interest, Ability and Values Inventory • Occupational Interests • ONET My Next Move Interest Profiler (Holland Codes: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional) • City of Phoenix • Basic Skills • Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Math and Language. (6 – 8 hours) • Ability and Values • Arizona Career Information System (AZCIS) Interest, Ability and Values Inventory • Occupational Interests • RIASEC (Holland Codes: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional)

Work Readiness Training • Maricopa County • 5-Day Optional Employment Academy • Self Awareness and Personal Development: Work Style Inventory, AZCIS Interest Profiler, Carl Jung Personality Profile, Financial Literacy • 21st Century Workforce: Salaries, Career Pathways, Trends, Customer Service, Soft Skills, Professionalism, Critical Thinking • Resume: Cover Letters, Accomplishments, Types of Resumes, Job Postings • Interview: Types, Dress, Behavioral Questions • Career Management: Arizona Career Readiness Credential (ACRC) Assessment • City of Phoenix • 2-Day Mandatory Work Readiness Workshop • Career Interests, Initiative and Dependability, Identifying Skills, Work and Career Values, Teamwork and Collaboration • Professionalism, Effective Communication, Occupational Goals, Acing the Interview

Occupational Skills Training (OST) • Maricopa County • $8,000.00 per enrollment • No Established Enrollment Time Limit • Average voucher amount: $5,700.00 • Training Program is Customer Choice • *170 Youth Started Training In PY18 • * 24% of PY18 Participants • City of Phoenix • $3,000.00 per program year • 3 year Enrollment Time Limit • Average voucher amount: $2,312.00 • Training Program is Limited to In-Demand Occupations • *187 Youth Started Training in PY18 • *20% of PY18 Participants *AJC Case Manager 8 Report

Service deliverY model challenges Maricopa County City of Phoenix Youth Limited to Services Provided by the Agency they are Enrolled With Agencies are Contracted to Provide Comprehensive Services – Not Just the Area they Focus In Restricted by the Scope of Existing Contracts when Responding to Service Requests from the Community Less Control Over Staff Interacting Directly with Clients • Youth Referred to Outside Agencies and New Staff for Services • Youth May Need to Access Services at a Variety of Locations • More Work and Paperwork to Manage and Supervise • Keeping up with Changes in Agency Staff and Service Delivery Methods • Agencies Have no Guarantee of Service Levels Which Makes is Difficult for Them to Plan
