  2. Who we are… NANNP is the advocate and leading change agent for the advance practice neonatal nursing profession to optimize care for neonates and their families.

  3. Our Mission NANNP is the unified voice for neonatal nurse practitioners. NANNP promotes quality, cost-effective health care by advocating for • Clinical and professional practice • Collaboration • Health Policy • NNP Education • Research

  4. Our Vision The neonatal nurse practitioner is an essential part of the healthcare system and takes a leadership role in the provision of quality care to neonates, infants, and their families

  5. Our Purpose • NANNP was founded as a division of NANN to improve care to newborns, infants, and their families by establishing a forum of communication among neonatal nurse practitioners. • It also proves a voice for communicating jointly with the Perinatal section of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) about neonatal issues in order to improve upon the already strong collaboration between neonatologists and NNPs.

NANNP Achievements • NANNP Inaugural Faculty Summit- at 2008 Annual Conference to solicit feedback and suggestions on revising “Educational Standards for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Programs” • DNP Position Statement • Evidence Based Guideline Development- Task force formed to develop research model • First guideline- 2010

  8. NANNP Achievements (cont.) • NNP Excellence Award- recognizes excellence in leadership in the areas of education, research, clinical practice • NANNP Luncheon- at 2008 NANN Annual Conference, discussing issues such as COFN, DNP, NNP Shortage, and NNP Competencies
