  23. Crop Condition Kharif Rice:- First Estimate for Kharif 2009-10 shows 1238 kg/ha. against normal productivity of the state 1492 kg/ha. The reasons for low productivity are as below – 1. Transplanting delayed up to 21/06/2009 due to late monsoon. 2. Dry spell during growing stage and flowering stage of the crop crop (24/07/2009 to 19/08/2009) 3 Heavy rainfall at harvesting stage.

  24. Green Gram/ Black Gram First estimates of Kharif 2009-10 are 270 kg/ha and 269 kg/ha for green gram & black gram respectively as against normal productivity of the state 431 kg/ha & 478 kg/ha. Reason for low productivity : Short -duration crop(mung- 60 to 65 days and udid 68 to 78 days ) dry spell (24/07/2009 to 19/08/2009)during the vegetative growth and flowering stage adversely affected the yield. Pigeon pea (Tur) Dry spell affected adversely on vegetative growth. Rain received during November 09 is beneficial to this crop. Normal yields are expected in this year.
