  1. Application Eligibility Period (AEP) Introduction Module Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope.

  2. Introduction Module Purpose • Outline the Requirements of AEP • Highlight Services Available • Provide Expectations

  3. What is AEP? • AEP is a 21-day period where FIP applicants focus on resolving employment related barriers and prepare for successful participation in PATH. • Assignments will be based on your employment readiness. • Successful completion is a requirement to be eligible for a FIP (cash) grant through DHS.

  4. Role of Michigan Works! A staff person will be assigned to help you with: • Barrier Removal • Skills and Interest Assessments • Job Search Goals • Preparing You for Self-Sufficiency

  5. Your Role, Your Job • Treat your participation in AEP as your job. • Participate in all assigned activities. • Be on time to all appointments. • Communicate with your assigned Michigan Works! staff person.

  6. Communication is Key! • Michigan Works! Staff needs to know your employment goals. • Ask your Michigan Works! staff person for help when needed.

  7. Weekly Assignments • You and your assigned Michigan Works! staff person will develop weekly assignments which include: • Barrier removal • Skill and interest assessments • Skill enhancement activities • Job Search/Job Readiness activities A Weekly Plan Designed for Your Success!

  8. Documentation of Participation Your AEP activities must be documented. Your Michigan Works! staff person will assign your activities and provide you with the appropriate forms and instructions. If you are unsure of how to complete a form, please ask……improper documentation will not be accepted.

  9. Successful Completion You Can Succeed! Weekly Review Meetings Completion of all 3 weeks Preparation for PATH (Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope.) which begins after your completion of AEP.
