  2. Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance • Careers Progression Mentor • EBP – Independent advice • Individual Career Meetings All Year 11 and 13 students by Christmas Selected Year 10 and 12 students • Identify students in need of intervention • Follow up meetings as required

  3. Link to Work Experience • Key Stage 5 Students have individual plan • One session a week • Short term placement • 1-2 week block • Understand expectations of a work place • Help to form / confirm options for the future

  4. Transport and Logistics Pre-Apprenticeship • One day a week placement at Langdons • Langdonstutor sessions • Maths / English • Interview and induction – A real application process • Clear steps to progression • Students feel valued and part of the work force

  5. Working Closely with Employers • Not just a 1 week placement – long term performance monitored • Work place link / supervisor is vital • CRB checks

  6. Benefits to the Students • Students involved were / are potential NEETs • Employability skills / Transferable skills • Understand possible outcomes • Students feel ‘success’

  7. Potential Issues / Barriers for Students • Students need to clearly understand workplace expectations • Timekeeping • Team Work • Flexibility • Communication
