To express religious devotion, people would go on a pilgrimage to a special religious place (such as Jerusalem. If they could not travel so far…they would go somewhere local.) Thomas Beckett was an archbishop; they travel to the place where he had been martyred, to seek blessings.

Morality Plays – Plays featuring allegorical figures representing good and evil, and other abstract qualities. The plays represented moral lessons.
