  1. By: Toni Doyle 2nd gradeThe Human BodyThe Digestive System, Circulatory System, Skeletal System, & Muscular System

  2. The Digestive System“THE BIG BAD FOOD SYSTEM” • What is it? Starts at the mouth and is responsible to breaking down all the nutrients and energy that your body needs from the food that you eat. YUM YUM YUM!

  3. What happens to that yummy hamburger you just ate? = The Digestive System 5. In the VESSELS is where the good molecules are taken. Once the food molecules are in these BLOOD VESSELS, it is delivered to all parts of the body! The YUMMY burger you eat 2. The Hamburger goes into the stomach of the “BIG BAD FOOD FACTORY” THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM 4. In the small intestine nutrients breaks from the burger you just ate to give your body the nutrients it needs 3. In the small intestine energy breaks from the burger you just ate to give your body the energy it needs

  4. Circulatory SystemThe Body’s “Mailing” System What’s in it?? The Heart Blood Tiny Blood Vessels It’s ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SYSTEMS IN THE HUMAN BODY!

  5. The “Mailing” system of the body= the circulatory system 1. The mail truck (which delivers the blood) starts at the heart. 2. Then the mail (the blood) travels with O2 and good nutrients 4. Then the mail truck picks up all the yucky waste the body doesn’t want and “gets rid of the junk mail” before returning to the heart 3. And gets delivered everywhere in the body

  6. The Skeletal System *BONE KNOWLEDGE* *What makes up “Bones” the Skeleton ? • The spine • Joints • Ribs • Hands & Feet • Arms Hi ! My name is Bones!

  7. The Skeletal System BONE KNOWLEDGE Bones are LIGHT WEIGHT , BUTTHE STRONGEST material in the HUMAN BODY! We are born with over 300 BONES! As adults we have 206 BONES! WOW!

  8. The Skeletal System LETS LABEL BONES! ARMS: FLEXIBLE THE SPINE: “The Backbone” is the main support for the body RIBS: PROTECT the heart and lungs! We have 12 PAIRS! Hips: Helps us stand up straight, move, and they support our body weight Legs: HELP US MOVE! Walk! Run! JOINTS: Allow us to move & function using many motions! Joints are located between the bones. Examples of this BENDING: Our Knees, Toes, Ankles, and Elbows etc. FEET AND HANDS: FLEXIBLE! Each foot has 26 BONES & Each hand has 27 BONES!

  9. THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM MUSCLE KNOWLEDGE What Does Muscle Man Want us to know!? Muscles are used for more than strength! Muscles: Keep us warm! Keep all our insides packed in tight! They help us move our Body! The Strongest Muscle: The muscle inside our mouths that helps us chew our food!

  10. THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM Cardiac Muscles: These Make up most of the HEART! THEY NEVER GET TIRED AND NEVER STOP! These muscles squeeze the heart so it pumps (beats) which keeps us ALIVE! Hi! I’m Muscle Man! LETS TALK MUSCLES! Skeletal Muscles: Help us move and support our skeleton! Connect our muscles! WE CONTROL these muscles! Smooth Muscles: Located in our stomach, bladder, intestines, and blood vessels! WE CANNOT control these muscles
